About this policy
This page explains what information CraftersVibe collects, how we use and protect it, and the rules every buyer and seller agrees to follow. It applies to craftersvibe.com, your CraftersVibe account, and any service we offer through the site, including our Sage assistant.
CraftersVibe is an online marketplace for makers and small sellers. You can buy and sell handmade goods, original work, vintage and flea-market finds, clothing, and much more. We connect buyers and sellers and process payments through outside partners. Sellers, not CraftersVibe, provide and ship the items they list.
By creating an account, listing an item, or making a purchase, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use CraftersVibe. This policy works together with our Terms of Service; if the two ever conflict, the Terms of Service control.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the marketplace, process orders, and keep the site safe.
Information you give us
- Account details: name, email address, phone number, username, and password.
- Shop details (sellers): shop name, description, photos, listings, prices, shipping settings, and return or cancellation terms.
- Payout and identity details (sellers): our payment processor, Stripe, collects the legal name, date of birth, address, tax ID, and bank account information it needs to verify you and send payouts. CraftersVibe does not store full bank account or tax ID numbers.
- Order details: items bought or sold, shipping address, billing address, and order notes.
- Messages: support requests, messages between buyers and sellers, reviews, and anything you type to Sage.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser type, IP address, pages visited, and general location (city or region, based on IP).
- Cookies and similar tools used for sign-in, your cart, language choice, and security.
- Security logs, such as login attempts and changes to account or payout settings.
Information from partners
- Payment status, fraud signals, and payout status from Stripe.
- Shipping label, tracking, and delivery status from Shippo and the shipping carriers.
- We never receive or store your full payment-card number. Stripe handles card details directly.
How we use information
- Create, secure, and manage buyer and seller accounts.
- Process payments, hold and release funds, and send seller payouts.
- Buy shipping labels, share tracking, and confirm delivery.
- Calculate and collect sales tax where required.
- Send order updates, receipts, account notices, and policy changes.
- Answer support requests and resolve disputes.
- Prevent fraud, spam, and abuse, and enforce these rules.
- Improve the site, fix problems, and understand how features are used.
- Send marketplace news or promotions only where you have agreed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only as needed to run the marketplace:
- With the other side of your order. Sellers see the buyer’s name, shipping address, and order details so they can fill the order. Buyers see the seller’s shop name and shop policies.
- Stripe processes card payments, verifies sellers, and sends payouts. Stripe’s own privacy policy also applies to information it collects.
- Shippo and shipping carriers (such as USPS, UPS, and FedEx) receive names, addresses, and package details to create labels and deliver orders.
- Website hosting, email, and security providers that keep the site running and protected.
- AI service providers that power Sage. They process what you type to Sage only to produce a response for you.
- Tax authorities and legal requests when required by law, a court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or CraftersVibe.
- Never sold for profit. CraftersVibe is built by the people, for the people, and we do not plan to sell or merge it. If ownership ever had to change, we would tell you first, your information would stay protected by this policy, and you could delete your account before any change.
Our service providers may use your information only to provide services to CraftersVibe.
Payments, fees, and payouts
All payments on CraftersVibe are processed by Stripe. Buyers pay CraftersVibe at checkout, and CraftersVibe pays sellers their share through Stripe.
Seller fees
- Monthly plan: sellers pay a monthly plan fee, currently $5 per month while the marketplace grows. Plan prices may change; we will give at least 30 days’ notice before any increase.
- Commission: CraftersVibe keeps a commission on each sale. The rate depends on the seller’s plan and is shown in the seller dashboard.
- Card processing fee: the fee Stripe charges for each payment is taken out of the seller’s share.
Buyer fees
- Shipping: shown at checkout or built into the item price, as the listing states.
- Buyer Protection fee: 1% of the purchase price, added at checkout on items that carry a commission.
- Sales tax: calculated and collected at checkout where the law requires it.
When sellers get paid
- Digital items: the seller’s share is released after the payment clears, with no extra hold.
- Physical items: the seller’s share is held for 14 days after payment, then released. If the buyer reports the item was not received, or no shipping label was printed, the release is paused until shipping is confirmed.
- Sellers never receive the shipping or sales tax portion of an order. Those amounts pay for labels and taxes.
- Funds are shown as available only after they have actually cleared.
Shipping labels
CraftersVibe buys shipping labels for physical orders through Shippo, using the shipping amount the buyer paid. A label can be printed once that order’s shipping payment has been received. Sellers must ship within the handling time stated in their listing and use the label and tracking provided. Orders can go to a PO box only when they ship by USPS; UPS and FedEx cannot deliver to PO boxes.
Buyer Protection
Buyer Protection is a last step, for when a buyer and seller cannot reach a solution on their own. We expect most problems to be settled directly between the two.
- Contact the seller first. Most problems are solved by a quick message.
- Open a case with support@craftersvibe.com within 30 days of the expected delivery date if the item never arrived. If it arrived damaged or very different from its listing, open the case within 10 days of delivery. Cases opened after these deadlines are not covered.
- We review it. We look at tracking, photos, and messages, and may ask both sides for information.
- We decide. If the case is approved, we may refund the buyer from the seller’s held funds or from our Buyer Protection fund. If we find the seller at fault, we may recover the amount from the seller’s future payouts.
Once a case is opened on time, it stays open until it is resolved, however long that takes. Buyer Protection does not cover buyer’s remorse, items used or altered after delivery, or problems caused by a wrong address the buyer entered. Buyers who file a card chargeback should also tell us, so we can help resolve it.
Sellers with repeated cases. A seller who has many Buyer Protection cases in a short time may face action. Depending on how serious it is, this can include a warning, longer payout holds, limits on new listings, or suspension. Closing the account is a last resort.
Who can use CraftersVibe
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to open an account, sell, or buy. Each person or business may hold one seller account unless we approve more. You are responsible for everything done under your account, so keep your password private and tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
Seller responsibilities
- Describe every item honestly, with real photos of what the buyer will receive.
- Label every item honestly: handmade, vintage, secondhand, or new. List it in the right category, and never call something handmade if you did not make it.
- Ship on time, pack items safely, and use the tracking provided.
- Make sure products are safe and meet the laws that apply to them, including labeling rules for items like cosmetics, candles, and children’s products.
- Post clear return, exchange, and cancellation terms, and honor them.
- Keep buyer information private. Use it only to fill the order, never for marketing or outside contact.
- Report your own income and pay your own income taxes. Stripe may send you a tax form (such as a 1099-K) when required.
Buyer responsibilities
- Read the listing, shop policies, and order total before paying.
- Give a correct, complete shipping address.
- Pay for what you order and communicate respectfully with sellers.
- Report problems through CraftersVibe so Buyer Protection can help.
Prohibited items
The following may not be listed:
- Counterfeits, knockoffs, or items that use someone else’s trademark, characters, or artwork without permission.
- Mass-produced or resold items presented as handmade.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives, and their parts.
- Drugs, drug paraphernalia, tobacco, vaping products, alcohol, and items making medical claims.
- Recalled items, or items that break safety laws.
- Live animals, and products made from protected or endangered species.
- Adult or sexually explicit content.
- Hateful items that promote violence or attack people for who they are.
- Anything illegal to sell where the seller or buyer lives.
Prohibited conduct
- Fraud, scams, or fake orders.
- Fake, paid, or traded reviews.
- Moving a CraftersVibe sale off the site to avoid fees. Local pickup is allowed and does not count as avoiding fees.
- Harassment, threats, or hateful messages.
- Spam, or using buyer or seller contact details for unwanted marketing.
- Trying to hack, scrape, or interfere with the site.
Enforcement
If a listing or account breaks these rules, we may remove listings, hold payouts, limit features, or suspend or close the account. Serious or repeated problems may lead to permanent removal. Where we can, we will tell you what happened and give you a chance to respond. You may appeal any decision by emailing support@craftersvibe.com.
Your content and intellectual property
You keep ownership of the photos, descriptions, designs, and reviews you post. By posting them, you give CraftersVibe permission to display, resize, and share them on the site and in our marketing of the marketplace and your shop, without payment, for as long as they stay posted. You promise you have the right to post them.
If you believe something on CraftersVibe copies your work or uses your trademark, email support@craftersvibe.com with: your contact details, a description of your work, a link to the listing, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized. We will review it, may remove the listing, and will tell the seller. Sellers who repeatedly infringe will lose their accounts.
Sage, our AI assistant
Sage helps buyers and sellers with things like writing listings, answering questions, and finding items. Sage is an automated AI tool, not a person, and it is in beta: we are still improving it, so some answers may be incomplete or wrong.
- Sage can make mistakes. Check its suggestions, especially prices, measurements, safety, and legal or tax questions, before relying on them.
- Sellers are responsible for anything they publish, even if Sage helped write it.
- What you type to Sage is processed by our AI provider to create a reply and may be kept with your account to improve support and Sage itself.
- Do not share passwords, card numbers, Social Security numbers, or health information with Sage.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your cart and language, protect accounts, and see which pages are used. We do not use cookies to sell your information or for third-party ad targeting. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but sign-in and checkout may not work without them.
How long we keep information
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Account and shop details | While your account is open, then up to 90 days after closing |
| Orders, payments, and payouts | 7 years, for tax and accounting records |
| Support messages and dispute records | 3 years after the issue is closed |
| Sage conversations | Up to 1 year |
| Security logs | Up to 1 year |
We may keep information longer if the law requires it or to settle a dispute, prevent fraud, or enforce these rules.
Your privacy choices and rights
You can view and update most of your information in your account settings. You may also ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete your information, except what we must keep for orders, taxes, fraud prevention, or the law.
- Stop sending you marketing emails.
Depending on your state (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, and others), you may have more rights under state privacy laws. We will honor them where they apply, and we will not treat you differently for using them. Email support@craftersvibe.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within 45 days. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our answer.
Children
CraftersVibe is not meant for children. You must be 18 or older to hold an account. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete it. Parents who think their child has given us information can contact us.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure payment processing through Stripe, limited staff access, and regular updates to protect your information. No website is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise information will never be exposed. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Never send passwords, card numbers, bank details, or Social Security numbers by email, support messages, buyer-to-seller messages, or Sage.
Disclaimers and limits of responsibility
CraftersVibe is a marketplace. We do not make, inspect, store, or ship the items sold here, and the sale is between the buyer and the seller. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any item, the accuracy of listings, or that the site will always be available or error-free.
To the fullest extent the law allows, CraftersVibe is not responsible for indirect or unexpected losses, such as lost profits or lost data, and our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100, whichever is greater. Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you. Nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be waived by law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as CraftersVibe grows. The “Last revised” date at the top shows when it last changed. For important changes, such as new fees or new ways we use your information, we will post a notice on the site or email you at least 30 days before they take effect. Using CraftersVibe after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
